[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Satellite Weather Windows

Blue Skies International of Salt Lake City, Utah has become a leader in
low cost weather satellite imaging products for the IBM PC. These systems
receive and display beautiful visible and infra-red images from United States,
Japanese and Soviet geostationary and polar orbiting satellites. These images
are global, regional or local to a resolution of 1 to 2 kilometers depending
on the satellite and its orbit. Images from Europe, Africa, Asia and the
Pacific areas are relayed to the United States geostationary satellites
providing many views a day of these areas of the world. The geostationary
satellites transmit images at the rate of 12-15 images per hour and the polar
satellites continuously transmit images to earth as they fly overhead (usually
10-13 minutes for a high arc fly over).

A demonstration disk is available with seven pre-captured images in a
sophisticated windowing environment. Many tools are available for the user
including high definition area zoom; four image palettes including gray,
infra-red, negative and user defined; automatic capture of preselected images
throughout the day and night; image sequence animation and a large selection
of calibration and alignment tools. All that is required is a mouse to navigate
through the windowing system, tools and on-line help.

For the IBM PC (VGA) user with interests in meteorology, these systems are truly
remarkable. For more information or to request a demonstration disk (enclose
five dollars for shipping and handling) write to:

Seems to me this constitutes advertising for a commercial product.
A strict no-no, last time I read the uunet rules.
