[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] MSDOS [games] software for trade/sale

mcsmit@watmath.waterloo.edu (Michael C. Smit, Hardware) (03/22/91)

Recently, I started using my computer for what I bought it for in the first
place :-) and found myself ignoring some pieces of software I had bought for
it. Seeing as I must soon pay off some shareware, and I'm never going to
use these things again, I thought I'd sell them, preferably to someone around
the University so I don't have to mess with Canadian Toast (post). Should
the software be shipped out, the buyer must pay, 'cause I'm just a poor
student, otherwise I would keep these things.

For sale:

New Print Shop by Broderbund, new $50, sell for $35 o.b.o.
Since I'm using WordPerfect 5.1, I don't need this. It makes a beautiful
beginners package though - I used to use it all the time, until the computer
  was needed for other things.
Omega by Origin, new $50, sell for $35 o.b.o.
This is a game where you build simulated tanks and give them a rudimentary
AI using a simple language, then compete against other tanks to determine
the effectiveness of your program and/or weapons arrangement. Good game,
just too busy to bother figuring out how to program tanks.
Populous by Bullfrog, new $45, sell for $30 o.b.o.
I just like Simcity better (I'm not selling that!). The original disk was
mangled in an accident, but it still reads (in my drives at least) and I
have backed it up. Also includes The Promised Lands.
Strike Aces by Accolade, new $40, sell for $25 o.b.o.
This game allows you to take the controls of one of eight common strike
aircraft (like the Tornado, F-15E, FB-111...) and fly numerous simulated
combat missions. Good graphics and realism, but needs an AT to run on or
else it is just too slow and unplayable.
Command HQ by Microprose, new $50, sell for $35 o.b.o.
This is a good world conflict simulator. I had fun winning as Germany and
Japan in the '42 scenario, and getting beaten in the '86 one. However, I
don't have the colour monitor to determine the differences between things,
and my mouse won't work with it (crazy compatible PC and its mouse driver)
though it has been tested on others with success. EGA req'd.
Bard's Tale by ECA, new $10, sell for $5 or bonus if you buy two of above
It is a classic, but I just didn't have the time. I steal to add to any
  collection at that cost.
Demonstalkers by ECA, new $10, sell for $5 or bonus if you buy two of above
Closest to Gauntlet on a PC, it even allows you to make your own out of 100
  levels of dungeon.

All programs come in their original boxes, with documentation, original disks
and (most) registration cards. Dated receipts available upon request.

If you don't have the money, but you want something, I am open to a trade. I
am looking for a good combat flight simulator for my XT, that is still
playable and action heavy despite the slow speed of the processor. Also, I
am interested in Strategy Wargames, Sword of Aragorn is one title that
comes to mind. What I am very interested in finding is a game like Empire
set in space, where you can build starcruisers to your own specifications,
form them into task forces, sail between the stars colonizing, until you
meet the enemy, at which point its war. A number of examples: Imperiums,
Stellar Crusade, Worlds at War.

If interested, email me at: mcsmit@watmath.uwaterloo.ca. I check my mail
twice daily, so chances are I'll get right back to you.
