I just bought Spellcasting 101. For those who haven't heard of it, it is a graphical/text adventure game similar to the well-known Infocom games. In fact, the writer actually wrote quite a few of them, incl. Leather Goddeses of Phobos. When I bought this game, I was under the assumption that my Soundblaster board could play the Adlib sounds from the game. Unfortunately, the program expects me to run the program SOUND.COM which comes with Adlib boards. Is there an utility which emulates SOUND.COM for the Soundblaster? -- +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Santanu Sircar BITNET: ssircar@umaecs.bitnet | | University of Massachusetts/Amherst INTERNET: ssircar@ecs.umass.edu | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+

It's included in one of the SB-Programs in snake.mcs.kent.edu Sorry, I forgot which one it was. Look in the player directory. Hope that helps. Call Creative Labs for their BBS number and download the SB-SOUND.ZIP file. The Sound Blaster is 100% hardware compatible with Adlib since both licensed the same "Adlib" technology from a third-party.

Try to ftp to snake.mcs.kent.edu and cd to pub/SB-Adlib/players. Then get the file musician.zip. There is an SB-SOUND.COM included and you have an nice composer for your Soundblaster. Hope that helps.
