None of this is accidental.  Gordon Letwin was a Unix hacker at Purdue
before going to Microsoft.

Gordon Letwin was more likely influenced by his work for
Heathkit in designing HDOS for the 8080....

He also wrote a VERY good 8 bit OS called H-DOS  for the HEATHKIT H-8.
