[net.ham-radio] WWVB info comments from K9EUI

Looks like most of those that wanted my WWVB info got it OK. This past
weekend, I dug into my rcvr and noted that there are some errors in the
drawings. If anyone is going to build it per my drawings, I will furnish
the changes.

I removed my crystal filter and replaced it with a mechanical filter which
has a 6dB bandwidth of about 80Hz. No real difference in performance was noted.
So I would say there is no reason to get fanatic about super minimum bandwidth.

I also threw together a board to decode and display the time code, including
seconds, minutes, hours, and days. The circuit is "discrete" using "LS" type
IC's and has 14 chips not counting the readouts (which include the decoders
and latches). It works OK when the signal is not corrupted by other crap.
However, the minutes display is a minute behind. The literature says that
they send the "anticipated minute" so I would assume it should be correct
at the start of the next minute but looks like this is not so for some reason.
