[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] TSR/background modem answerer?

gomez@ENUXHA.EAS.ASU.EDU (Jose L. Gomez-Rubio) (04/28/91)

Anyone know of a TSR/background program that answers the modem and says the
BBS is down?

I've run several stand-alone programs but they use up the entire machine.

Thanks for the info!

	why not just run the command in the background? you know, from the
	c shell, something like:

		tutorial % bbs_down >& bbs.msgs &
		[1] 437
		tutorial % jobs
		[1]  + Running                bbs_down >& bbs.msgs
		tutorial %

	oh, you mean you're running ms-dog, not unix? sorry, i didn't
	know whether comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc was dedicated to just ms-dog,
	or all the os's the pc is capable of running.

	you really should try unix; you'll probably like it.

	cheers && happy hacking,
