[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] optical disk driver program

Hi,

     I am supposed to write a driver program for optical disk drives.
Is there anyone who has a sample program or similar experience?  Any
help will be greatly appreciated.  Or does anyone know if there is a 
book on this matter?
