[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Lotus v3.1 under DV - Extended Memory?

Hello there....

I recently got Lotus 1-2-3 v3.1 thrown at me when the whole office
upgraded their software and they had an extra copy. Naturally, I
wanted to install it to be rid of Allways and get the extra
functionality and whatnot. However, whenever I try to run it under
DesqView/386, it either brings up a black screen and exits because it
can't handle the graphics or crashes because of "VM error: Not enough
memory". Now, while previous versions of 123 used Lotus' own EMS
spec, this one requires at least 384K of extended memory, not
expanded. I have no idea, even after reading the manual, how to make
DV cough up extended memory.

So - does anyone have a DV config file for Lotus 1-2-3 version 3.1, or
some other easy way to get 3.1 to work under DV? I'd really
appreciate it, since I consider being able to open a shell or download
in the background while using a big application to be nearly just
compensation for being forced to use a monochrome PS/2 with a teensy
hard disk. Thanks....
