There exist three versions of the CORE standard under UN*X: On the 1981 Usenix distribution tape, there is a UNIX implementation of Core Graphics from the Dept of Defense. I believe it was an experimental version; the only driver supplied is for a Genisco. The contact listed is: Mike T. Garrett R53 Department of Defense 9800 Savage Rd. Ft. George G. Its not in very good shape, but I'll send you a copy for free, just send me a tape with sufficient return postage. This may be due to decvax losing a lot of net traffic last week (if you happened to send me any information not included in this posting, PLEASE resend it). The information that follows was culled from back issues of Computer Graphics: A copy of the GKS (Graphical Kernal System) standard, version 7.0, might be obtained by writing: Prof. Jose Encarnacao TH Darmstadt - FB Informatik FG Graphische Datenverarbeitung Alexanderstrasse 24 D-6100 Darmstadt West Germany. [N.B. this annoucement was made in June 1982, with the caveat lector that only a limited number of copies were available. ] Release of the international standard (V8.0) is expected sometime in the summer of 1983. Some papers relevant to GKS are: Bono, Peter, et al., IEEE Comp. Graph. and Applic., July 1982 Buttals, P., "Some Criticisms of GKS", Comp. Graph., vol. 15, no. 4, p. 301 Hatfield, Lansing, "GKS and the Alphabet Soup of Graphics Standards", Comp. Graph., 16, 2, 161 (June 1982).
