I've got a Dell System 200 with an extended memory board. I'm also running Windows 3.0. Problem: I like to use the "chess" desktop (selected from the Control Panel). Problem is, it appears that unless I load "himem.sys" Windows is unable to load the "chess" bitmap although it IS able to load "pyramids", "paper", etc. I'm assuming that "chess" requires more memory and it uses the 64k that's made available by "himem.sys". Is this a correct assumption (seems to be by trial and error)? If it is, can I somehow make some of the 4 meg of extended memory on the card available for this the same way "himem.sys" does?
