[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] "MACRO" key on ubiquitous BTC-53 keyboards.

I haven't seen this discussed before and just *have* to ask.. Has
anyone found a use or way of using that key labeled MACRO?

It's that dormant key in the lower-left corner of almost all BTC
AT keyboards.. (which seem pretty common).

The (skimpy) docs that came with the keyboard claim that a program by
BTC can use this key for macros of some sort, so it has to be
reachable from DOS somehow...

It doesn't seem to generate a scan-code or anything, so how would one
detect it?

In 386-Unix, the X11 xterm port uses it for scrolling back one page,
so it has to be documented/known by someone!

Just the thought of a wasted key on the board... :)
