[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] Disk expander program

draper@buster.cps.msu.edu (Patrick J Draper) (06/04/91)

I've got a program the reportedly doubles the capacity of hard drives
by installing a driver that reprograms the drive controller.

I've tried this with an RLL drive, but the only program fooled was
Norton's FS which reported 130 megs free, and I've got a 65 Meg drive.
The drive reported full when I put 65 megs of data on it.

The documentation said nothing about this, but I suspect that it only
works on MFM drives.

So, to get to my point, I'm providing the program to anyone who sends me
e-mail. I'll send it uuencoded to you, zip format. You'll need uudecode
and unzip to get it to work. I think that the thing is shareware, so be
sure to register it if you keep it. And, please get back to me about
what you found. Does the thing really double the capacity of drives?
