[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] addressing ethernet through serial

m21827@mwunix.mitre.org (Ken Stillson) (06/10/91)

Hi. I've got a pc-compat with a nice generic ethernet card, and
am using NCSA telnet to net into our building lan.

However, I've developed a need to use some application software though
the lan, and it does not directly support ethernet.. That is, it just wants
a COM port. Does anyone out there have, or know of, any software drivers
that would allow me to route a spare COM port to the ethernet controller?
Thanks a lot!
