OK. I ran down to EggXxxx to get my brand-new-just-released-today-hot-off- the-press upgrade for MSDOS 5.0. Generally, I'm quite impressed. Seems they've learned a few things at Micro$oft from observing what other utilities and command processors (e.g., 4DOS, Norton Utilities, QEMM, etc.) have been using as their big selling point for years. Loads into high memory, loads device drivers and TSRs there too for 80386+ machines, takes up less room, includes a command line history buffer and editor. Great. My one complaint so far is that when I run the DOSSHELL program, my mouse doesn't show up on the screen. I KNOW that DOSSHELL thinks it's there 'cause I can click it and watch things highlight. Unfortunately, this is mostly a hit-and-miss process since I can't tell where the mouse is. I'm using a Logitech 8-bit bus mouse w/ version 6.02 of the driver on a 12 MHz 286 clone w/ coprocessor also running 4DOS 3.02. Has anyone had similar problems? The mouse cursor shows up fine when I run EDIT, Windows 3.0, etc., and changing the screen mode (even to graphics modes) or the color does not help.
