[net.ham-radio] Tech vs. Appliance Op -- DX vs. UHF/Packet/Amtor/etc.

wb6rqn@yojna1.UUCP (Brian Lloyd) (11/13/85)

I am not going to repeat what has gone before, but there are many people
in the ham radio world. Most of them are appliance operators (I have several
appliances here too). For many the entire world is between 1.8 and 30Mhz.

On the other hand, there are many people who build their own gear, interface
with their computers, design microwave gear, do EME, and all other sorts of
interesting things.

My point is this; please do not dump on someone because he/she enjoys an
aspect of our hobby that does not appeal to you. If you do not like the DX
bulletins, exercise your right index finger on the 'n' key and go on to the
next article. --**PLEASE**-- do not start a flame section of the DX vs. tech
operation sort. I, for one, do not want to hear it.
