What does the POST error: 4090 201 -or- 40D0 201 mean? The machine is a IBM PC (not XT) with the 256K motherboard and CGA. It beeps once, then hangs on reading the DOS diskette. If no diskette is present, it goes into ROM basic. The hex address and bit identifaction where applicable (either in other software or post...) are very often wrong. Start slightly below that address and 1 bit at a time. al -- Al.
