I have recently been plagued with RF noise, which sounds like a 60 Hz buzz with clicks superimposed. It is worst from 5 to 8 MHz, and is bothersome from about 2 to 14 MHz. It is intermittent, but seems to be around 80% of the time. I walked around my neighborhood with a receiver today and discovered that it extends at least 4 or 5 houses in each direction on the street. The noise level varied as I walked down the street. If placed my radio against a street light pole (we have underground power here), the noise was much stronger. I would like to make this noise go away. Can I expect any help from the power company or the FCC in tracking it down? Any ideas would be appreciated. The problem might be an old oil bunner. The older ones kept their ignition on all the time and they radiate like crazy. Did the noise only come on with the cold weather? using RF filters at the burner would cure the trouble. I am sure the people with the bum burner have the same rouble with their TVs and AM radios so would be interested in cleaning it up if that is the problem. Joe N2XS
