[comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc] SMARTDRV slowdown

Has anyone noticed whether or not SmartDrive slows down their disk
transfer rate?  When SmartDrive is installed, my disk transfer rate is
reduced by 50% from 960K/sec to 640K/sec.
