My Dad is computer-shopping to replace his *original* IBM PC with something more up-to-date. I have talked him out of a 386SX and he is goign to go for the 386SX with all the trimmings. He really only runs Wordperfect 4.0 but I suspect that he will love Windows once he gets it. My questions: 1) Does anyone know what the difference is between an Everex "Step" and an Everex "Tempo"? 2) How woudl you compare an Everex to a Gateway or a Zeos? 3) should we be looking at anything else? Good tech support is VERY important to Dad. 4) anyone know where these machines are made? I would appreciate any advice. I used to be really knowledgable about 8088 clones but I have worked only with VAXen and Unix boxes for the last few years, and it shows. Please reply email as I don't want to start a "best-brand" public flame (unless everyone is really interested) c thanks, Betsy -- Betsy Schwartz Internet: betsys@cs.umb.edu System Administrator BITNET:ESCHWARTZ%UMBSKY.DNET@NS.UMB.EDU U-Mass BostonComputer Science Dept.
