Alex--

The QSK on the Yaesu seemed to work fine. Contests are a time of
essential need for break-in, and we were running QRP with the rig,
too! I recall it was good.

Can't speak to your other questions as I'm not that familiar with
the rig's guts. About the keyer, we used my programmable keyer in
FD due to its obvious advantages in contests. My friend who owns
the 757 says the built-in keyer works OK, but the speed control is
VERY sensitive. And the keyer controls are not readily accessible
being on top and quite small. He's been using his own keyer, too.

If you want some more info, you might want to call my friend who owns
the 757. Give me a call at (619) 225-2665 and I can provide his name,
number, etc.

The rig seemed like a nice one to use. Having been a ham for over
20 years, however, I find it hard to wean myself away from peaking
the grid and dipping the plate!
