[comp.os.msdos.apps] Hiding Files

nuspljj@mentor.cc.purdue.edu (Joseph J. Nuspl Jr.) (11/27/90)

In light of all of the discussion about hiding files, there is one point
that should be mentioned -- these schemes work in DOS. In Windows, LeMenu,
and other menuing systems and the like, you can change directories by
highlighting, point-and-clicking, et cetera.

One scheme that I don't think that has be suggested is creating a hard disk
partition. There are a lot of people that use my computer. I have created
a partition for a 'data' disk. This makes it easier whem backing up data.
Plus most people do not think to look for partitions.

Another idea would be to compress the game files with PK-arc or PK-zip which
have password options. Use and dummy name when creating the archive.
