My friend bought Norton Util 5.0 and I ran 'si' on my Epson Equity I+ (10mzh XT) just out of massive curiosity. It reports that I have 18,000k of EXTENDED memory (I only have 640k, no expanded memory) according to the CMOS values. Question is, how do I change that, because the diagnostic disks that came with my Epson doesn not seem to have the utility to change CMOS memory settings. I cound change time and serial port setting in CMOS, but that's about it. It also reports an error in CMOS hard disk type - I have a Segate ST238-R with WD 27x controller, 17 sectors per track, 939 cyl. But my hard disk NEVER gave me trouble. Can anybody out there tell me how to change the CMOS values? Does disconnecting the battery help? I am absolutely stumped! Please respond via e-mail. One more thing - it seems only Norton reports this. PCSHELL says I have only 640k. But version 4.5 of si also does not report the 18,000k ext mem deal. Will my computer crash becuse of this?
