My brother has a brand new 386, that will be used by several people at the organization of which he is secretary. In order to make the machine more palatable to the users (and himself) - they are all pretty much computer illiterate - he is running MS-DOSShell. It's great! You boot the machine and get a pleasant menu. The only problem is that "DOS Prompt" and "File System" are part of this menu (the rest of the menu consists of password protected applications and program groups - my brother will insist on security paranoia until the users are a bit more competent). Any one can access these two items, and, if not careful, wreak havoc. (One user formatted the hardrive when he copied from the external 5 1/4", as he was absolutely positive that you needed to format a target disk before copying. He knows better now). So the question is, can you either password protect "DOS Prompt" and "File System", or move them to another program group? I played with the thing for quite awhile over the hols, but had no luck - chiefly because those particular menu items are disabled for "DOS Prompt" and "File System". Help, please!
