ad7i msg 22 All radio amateurs should be aware of the ARRL's new publication, QEX, that deals with subjects that are judged to be too technical for the readership of QST. QEX is in newsletter format, and consequently, has much less lead time than QST. The quality of articles is extreme: running from very good to poor. However, the good artilces far outweigh the poor ones. I recommend it to anyone interested in the latest work done by technically inclined radio amateurs. QEX is $6 for 12 issues (i think). For more information contact ARRL, 225 Main Street, Newington CT 06111, 203-666-1541.

I am also dissappointed in QEX and the few articles that are published could easily fit in QST and make it a better magazine. The real problem is probably that very few people submit articles to QEX and no-one is to blame but those of us that have some good technical background and don't take time to share it with others (myself included). Maybe the ARRL needs to assign volunteers to look into different areas of design and theory and publish more articles in the QEX??? Don't know the cure but I am ready to let my subscription drop but first I have to evaluate why I haven't submitted anything. 73 and Holiday Wishes de KN9K
