I remember a shareware product for this specific purpose about a year or 
18 months ago. It was oriented towards biomedical references and had options
to print reference lists in the formats of 20 or son journals. Can't remember
the name but it may be JRef or something like that.

Notebook and Pro-Cite are quite powerful, but they're also expensive and
some people find them difficult to learn.  BIB is a bibliographic database
that's menu-driven, quickly learned, and inexpensive ($50).  It's
available from Bib Co., 671 N. Dodge, Tucson AZ  85716.
