[comp.os.msdos.apps] FSUUCP help!

green@vis.toronto.edu (Anthony Thomas Green) (03/10/91)

Has anybody out there got FSUUCP working? I have tried contacting the
author but it seems that he has moved.

Specifically: Do I need the X00.SYS driver? CALLOUT does not dial.
When I try to mail to myself it says that there are
              no valid users.

If anybody can help me out - please email me. Thanks!

Yes, you need the driver. Put something in your config.sys that loads
it. Note, FSUUCP leaves the driver active on the port so that other
programs accessing that port fail. Look for a program named "xu" to
turn it off.

BTW. If you need a simple DOS-Unix mailer, look into "pcmail 2.0". It
is much simpler and does not require a driver.
