[comp.os.msdos.apps] Problem with wordperfect 5.1 and PIC file imports

SRPDSDJ@trev.dsir.govt.nz (Sid) (03/12/91)

I am having problems importing PIC files into wordperfect 5.1 from quattro
pro.

Specifically a PIC file of a graph when imported has the following fault
the X axis and Y axis are missing as is the box around the key. The fault
does not occur with EPS files, if the PIC file is read into VP graphics all
the axes etc are there.

1) Can anyone verify this?
2) Can anyone suggest a solution to these problems?

Best wishes from downunder or up over or whatever,

SID.

I had the same problem. WordPerfect Technical Support provided the
solution.

In Quattro Pro, the graphical defaults are to draw bright white lines
(grid color) on a grey (fill color) background - in effect white on white.
When this files are imported into WP, white on white is printed.

There are two ways to change this.

1. In WP edit the contents of the graphics box and turn invert on (#4)
   before printing.

2. In Quattro Pro, change the characteristics of your graphs so that you
are not printing white on white. To do this select
	Graph/Overall/Grid/Grid Color
and change it to something other than bright white. You can make this
a permanent change by putting these changes in the autoload file
eg. QUATTRO.WQ1 or whatever you choose to call it.

We use the second option and place the autoload file in the directory
where the graphs are being exported from.
