There's been so much talk about 4DOS lately, I thought I'd give it a try. On firing it up I received the somewhat scary message "Warning !! - the file c:\4dos.com has been modified." The system proceeds to come up in a usable state when I press Enter. What is the significance of this message. Do I have a corrupt copy of 4DOS? I am using the files 4dos302.zip and 4dos302u.zip from the garbo mailserver. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

F-OSCHK is the one which calculates checksums for certain stuff, one of which is the command interpreter. When you chang it and forget to update the checksum, you get that message. Nothing to be scared of, just update the checksum.. How do I know? Khrm.. it did happen once to me, too.. :-) -- _____________________________________________________________ ) Esa Holmberg, esaholm@utu.fi, esa.holmberg/o=ttl/@elisa.fi ) / Elisa : Holmberg Esa TTL fax : (921) 510 017 / +------------------------------------------------------------+
