[comp.os.msdos.apps] Prodigy Input Parameters & 9600 Baud Option

lampson@tellabs.com (Dave Lampson) (03/24/91)

The MSDOS version of the Prodigy software shows that the program takes up to
10 input parameters. I know the first parameter is a nickname for autologin,
but does anyone have the definition for all of the other input parameters?

Also, in browsing through the other files in the directory, it appears there
is some capability for 9600 baud. Does anyone know how to get this set up?

Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no Prodigy number that supports
anything over 2400 bps (ridiculous, I agree), with the exception of
Rochester, NY, where I believe they have set up a 4800 bps line as an
experiment.

I don't have my Prodigy info handy, but notice that the phone numbers
are divided into 2 groups.
One of the groups support 9600 baud. If you look at the log on file it
is actually identified as
9600 in the comment field. Change the baud from 1200 to 2400, then see
what file changed
where. Then change it to 9600 with an editor. Or call Prodigy and say
your modem only does
9600 and they will reluctantly tell you how. I have no idea why they
hide the 9600!
