A while back, several articles discussed obtaining commercial
broadcast "pulls" for use in linears....
1. Where does one find these things (I assume you don't simply
call the local AM station es say "hi, I'd like your old tubes!".
2. What types of stuff are currently used/available?? Like everyone
else, I'm interested in the 1.8 - 30 mHz SSB/CW/RTTY applications.
Finally, any one have any thoughts on "up-grading" a SB-220 for 1.5KW??
I was toying with the idea of throwing away the existing power supply
(or atleast remoting it out of the cabinet) to make room for perhaps
another (pair) of 3-500Z's es a something like a 4-400 driver.
Any thoughts?? Would I be better off to throw away the existing 3-500s
es go with a single 8877? Anybody have a source (price) on 8877s?
