Hi, I'm having problems ever since I upgraded 4dos. Under 3.02a applications which should give me a dos shell crap out with the error: 4DOS initialization error -- Out of memory Now, it should be swapping to disk, as I have 4DSHELL=/S:D to swap to disk. I know there's more memory out there because if I set my comspec to c:\command.com instead of c:\4dos.com I don't get any errors. Any ideas? Thanks, CHuck

Dump the 4DSHELL and use something like the following in config.sys: shell=c:\4dos.com /s:b /p That will pick the 'best way' swapping. To force to a specific drive (like a RAM disk), use /s:dd:\ (to go to d:\, for instance). -- halcyon!ralphs@seattleu.edu The 23:00 News and Mail Service - +1 206 292 9048 - Seattle, WA USA +++ A Waffle Iron, Model 1.64 +++
