If your new copy of DOS 5.0 is like the one I looked at, then sort.exe will hang your system! I understand this was a problem in a recent beta version also! Anyway, a quick fix, if you regularly use sort, is to get the sort.exe from your older version of DOS (in my case Compaq DOS 3.31), and then run SETVER to tell sort (the old one) that it is running under the appropriate version of dos.
