Beat me, flame me, but I haven't seen anyone ask this, so I will. I've been buying all my software for years now in 3.5" size. My A drive is a 5.25", however, out of historical necessity. Can I buy the MS-DOS 5.0 upgrade in 3.5" disks without swapping A & B? I don't mind if I need to, but I would like to know ahead of time. I wouldn't even have asked, but the box says you can upgrade across a network, and that implies the install script to does not need to be the booted disk in A. Thoughts (preferably simple one word answers) can be sent to Lou Anschuetz, temngt23@ysu.edu

That's exactly what I did. All you have to be careful about is that the UNINSTALL disk made during the upgrade installation will be made on your 5.25" drive. Mine defaulted to 1.2MB format. - Jim =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "The opinions expressed here in no way represent the views of Digital Equipment Corporation." Actually it works well to install DOS 5.0 from 3.5" drive B: The DOS 5.0 install program asks you to put a blank formatted disk in your A: drive. It uses this drvie to write an uninstall program to. If you're installing from B: you don't have to swap media. Worked great for me!!! Tom
