I've just upgraded my machine to MS-DOS v5.00. I have an Imprimis 340mb drive, with a DTC 6280 ESDI controller, and it has been formatted into a 72mb DOS/256mb Speedstor Partitions (4k clusters each). I'm using the MSDOS supplied SSTOR.SYS driver (6.3.1), and QEMM v5.11 as a memory manager. Now, the question is, I'd like to use the new NCACHE (ver 6.0) with their "intelliwrites" enabled. However, when I have them enabled under DesqView v2.31, it locks up any application that writes to disk.. Specifically I'm running a BBS (Waffle) in the background with a FOSSIL (X00.SYS v1.24). Disabled it seems to work fine. I've also gone up on their NDOS (4DOS for Norton), should it matter. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery? Email please, I'm not always around to get my news before it expires. --- J. Francis Dries, III ...!rutgers!faatcrl!doppler!jdries jdries@doppler A wise man once said--"That'll be $10."
