[comp.os.msdos.misc] Hard disk identification

jim@cs.vu.nl (Jim van Keulen) (09/30/90)

I have in my possession a 3.5 inch hard disk made by Western Digital.
It is type WD582R. I don't have any documentation with the drive.
I suspect that it is a ST506 compatible drive, but I don't know
the geometry. Is there somebody in netland who has information
about this drive type? I am interested in number of heads, cylinders,
sectors per track and any jumper settings needed to use it.

Thanks,
