It seems to be a well-known feature of DOS 3.3 that at 19200 baud you will loose characters when you are using the keyboard. The problem is in the new DOS 3.3 keyboard driver which supports different codepages. It will go away (the problem) if you install the old DOS 3.2 keyboard driver. Does anyone know the exact reason of this problem and whether there is a patch or a workaround (other than using the old driver which does not support codepage 850)? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, -- Erik W. Jeppesen ej@rci.dk +45 42 65 80 00 RC International, Lautrupbjerg 1, DK-2750 Ballerup, Denmark

I never heared this and never experienced it either. I'm using 19200 baud on a relative slow AT (8 MHz) all the time and had never any problems. You have to use a terminal program that causes the serial interface to generate interrupts whenever a character arrives and installes his own interrupt handler for these. I believe that you then can even run 19200 baud on an XT when you make screen output fast enough (direct screen writes). -- --------------------------------------------------------------- Klaus Hartnegg, Kleist-Str. 7, D-7835 Teningen, Tel 07641/48652 BITNET : HAKL@DFRRUF1 Internet : HAKL@ibm.ruf.uni-freiburg.de
