		    SHUTTLE SEARCH CONTINUES

			   Bob Parnass

Combined units of the US Navy, Coast Guard, and	NASA
are continuing their operations today off the Florida
coast for debris from the Space Shuttle. Several units
were monitored in the operation, including:

	- USCG Cutters Point Roberts, Dauntless, and Dallas

	- USS Samson

	- Navy Patrol Boat 778

	- USCG Search and Rescue Aircraft 1710

	- USCG Search and Rescue Helicopter 1430

	- Navy Rescue Aircraft 322

Primary frequencies involved appear to be 5.680 MHz
     (usb) and 282.8 MHz.

Data Marking Buoys	(DMBs),	which transmit signals on
UHF, are	being dropped by aircraft where wreckage is
spotted. Try listening for a buoy	on 240.6 MHz if you
     live near the affected area.
