This is unfortunate, as there are times when we want to use the application without the printer connected. Does anyone know how I can either redirect LPT1: to a file, or install some type of adapter on the parallel port to let the application think that a printer is attached and on-line?

Control Room (which we happen to make) will let you do this. CR is a TSR that, among other things, will intercept the printer output and send it to a disk file. I find that rather handy when working with my Epson Equity LT on the road, as it prevents me from hanging up the machine when I accidentally hit the Shift-PrtSc key with no printer connected. //Steve//
