A while back, someone posted an undocumented switches to the DRIVPARM config.sys line to allow a B: drive be recognized as a 720K drive on an XT. I used it on my XT to allow the 3.5" drive on it allow formatting its disks to 720K. Without this line, you couldn't do it without using driver.sys and causing the creation of an other driver letter. Post or e-mail I don't care. Thanks in advance. +-----------------+---------------------------+-----------------------------+ | Bill Poitras | Polygen Corporation | {princeton mit-eddie | | (bill) | Waltham, MA USA | bu sunne}!polygen!bill | | | | bill@polygen.com | +-----------------+---------------------------+-----------------------------+

DRIVPARM is undocumented only for PC-DOS. The line you need in config.sys is this: DRIVPARM=^A/D:1 /F:2 Notes: 1) following the = sign, that is a single ^A, Control-A. No space, or you'll get an "unrecognized command" error. 2) above line assumes B: drive is the 3 1/2"; change /D:1 to /D:0 for A: drive -- David Sewell, English Dep't, University of Rochester, New York USA dsew@cc.rochester.edu || dsew%cc.rochester.edu@uorvm.BITNET
