We have been using ftp softwares network software for sometime now and it certainly does the job. However there is one problem. We have a number of people that would like to have access to the printers hanging off some of the unix boxes. I can use lpr to send stuff to these printers but that means that from applications you have to print to a file, exit and send via lpr. Unfortunatly that means that most formatting is lost. I should mention that these documents are generally from MS-Word, Word Perfect and Chi Writer and most of these are using fonts that need to be downloaded. What I would like to do is print from the application to the printer and avoid the lpr deal all together. I had heard that ver. 2.05 of ftp's stuff would address this issue. Has anybody else heard this? yea nay. Any help appreciated. capt.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Those who say it can't be done will eat the dust of those doing it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim "Capt."
