PC-Labs of PC Magazine's benchmarks are free. You could probably find some version on a local BBS, or on Compuserve. I believe pc labs runs a bbs on which you can obtain the latest version.

:

You can get them as /pub/pc/bench56.zip by anonymous ftp from our
site.

(P.S. Ever heard of linewrap, or is it the gateway that tricks us).

Try the Simtel archives:

PD1:<MSDOS.INFO>BENCH56.ZIP	PC Magazine's (PC Labs') benchmarks, v5.6
PD1:<MSDOS.INFO>DHRY0217.ZIP	Dhrystone benchmark as of 17 Feb 86
PD1:<MSDOS.SYSUTL>DHAMP.C	The dhampstone benchmark
PD1:<MSDOS.SYSUTL>DPBU.ARC	Dalton Porter benchmark utility

among others. I would agree with Greg that the PC Magazine benchmark is
the one to use - I know nothing about the others. (From the 910127
listing of the Simtel archives index.)

Regards.
