[comp.os.msdos.misc] SoundBlaster and FS:ATP game...

tomj@snowking.Eng.Sun.COM (Tom Jacobs) (03/14/91)

I just bought a SoundBlaster and the new FS:ATP (Airline Transport
Pilot) game and can't get it to work with the soundblaster...
Supposedly, the SoundBlaster emulates an AdLib card? Is this right?
The game docs say modify the config.atp to include the line...

SOUND=adlib

...and when I try to run atp it complains that it cannot find a
file named "adlib.snd" and exits. Where is this file? Do I need
to convert some file that came with ATP into this file using some
utility pgm that came with SoundBlaster? I'm very new to pc-game-sound
software, so I'd appreciate any help/clues. Thanks!

   The current version of ATP does not support any sound cards. It only
allows sound through the IBM PC speaker. The documentation (which has several mistakes) is wrong about the adlib support. I was told that this support is being worked on and you will be notified when it is complete if you have sent in your registration card.
