HELP: I'm relatively new to dos, and I received the message "Sharing Violation Reading Drive C:" last night. I was having problems installing some software from a bum floppy, so I copied the floppy to my hard disk (C:\TEMP) and installed it from there. After I was done with the installation, I went to delete C:\TEMP\*.* . Many files delete fine, but the system stuck on one (kinda large) .exe . I hand deleted all the others, but every time I went after this one I got that "Violation." This is one of those errors that follows with "Abort, Retry or Fail:". When I hit "F", the system said: "fail on INT 24". Finally I ran CHKDSK, which didn't help, and rebooted (soft). When the system came up I went to delete that .exe and it went without complaint. My system consists of a 386/25 clone with 125 Mb HD (19ms. IDA interface). Is this a *BIG PROBLEM* or is this common? Is the problem fixed? Is it even a problem? Please send E-Mail to address below. Thanx, ...steve... ---------------------------------------- Steve Rosen attmail!srosen srosen@attmail.com ----------------------------------------
