QST DE K9EUI HR CRRL BULLETIN NR 6/5 FROM CRRL HEADQUARTERS LONDON ONT FEBRUARY 24, 1986 TO ALL RADIO AMATEURS BT DOC HAS INFORMED CRRL THAT, EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, AMATEURS APPLYING FOR A STATION LICENCE, FOR THE FIRST TIME ONLY, WILL HAVE TO PAY A FEE OF 26 DOLLARS. THE FEE WILL DROP TO 20 DOLLARS THE FOLLOWING YEAR. AMATEURS WHO REQUIRE A STATION LICENCE FOR ONLY PART OF A YEAR CAN PAY ON A PRO RATED BASIS. CANDIDATES FOR DOC EXAMINATIONS WILL HAVE TO PAY A 5 DOLLAR FEE FOR EACH PORTION OF AN AMATEUR RADIO EXAMINATION THEY TRY. CRRL HAS FORMALLY ASKED DOC TO CONTINUE THE PRACTICE OF ISSUING SPECIAL CALLSIGN PREFIXES TO HELP CANADIAN AMATEURS PUBLICIZE SIGNIFICANT EVENTS IN THE LIFE OF THE COUNTRY. to all radio amateurs bt
doc has informed crrl that, effective april 1, amateurs applying for
a station licence, for the first time only, will have to pay a fee of
26 dollars. the fee will drop to 20 dollars the following year.
amateurs who require a station licence for only part of a year can
pay on a pro rated basis. candidates for doc examinations will have
to pay a 5 dollar fee for each portion of an amateur radio
examination they try.
crrl has formally asked doc to continue the practice of issuing
special callsign prefixes to help canadian amateurs publicize
significant events in the life of the country. the submission
presents a plan whereby amateurs would assist doc in issuing the
prefixes, keeping doc involvement, and costs, to a minimum ar
