Help, STUPIDLY, while trying to increase my environment size on my 386 box running MSDOS 4.01 (yeah I know it's a BAD THING to run MSDOS 4.xx) I changed my CONFIG.SYS so that the system can't find COMMAND.COM: "SPECIFIED COMMAND SEARCH DIRECTORY BAD" No problem, just boot off a floppy and fix things, right? @$@!!# The system on the floppy is 4.00 (not 4.01!) So it can find C: but if you try anything (even a dir) on C: "INVALID MEDIA TYPE" I'm ASSUMING it's the difference between 4.00 and 4.01 that's my trouble. Amazingly, I cannot find anyone with 4.01 to do the experiment. The stores all say wait a couple of weeks and by 5.0. Great, so I'm down for two weeks? Anyone know how I can get back in? clues? Blessings upon any assistance. Gigathanks. godden@u.milton.washington.edu
