Hi, i'm having some problem getting ORCAD SDT working. It concerns the NETLIST'ing of a .SCH schematic file to a netlist suitable for ORCAD PCB auto-routing. Currently this is possible by setting up the Key Field configurations with DRAFT /C and manually editing the part fields on the schematic to their suitable PCB library module names. However, the PCB reference manual mentions a utility called FLDSTUFF that presumably automates this process. The catch? :- one is referred to the ORCAD SDT III manual for an explanation. Narry a word about FLDSTUFF there! nor in the VST, PLD manuals or other references. In fact there seems to be no mention of what links exist between SDT and PCB in the SDT book. So i'm left wondering how to use FLDSTUFF and how to create netlists suitable for PCB. All this confusion(and more) despite $17,000 our department paid for ORCAD, earlier this year. Its the little things that annoy the most. (And i thought after TURBOC, MASM, Franklin 8051, TURBO PASCAL , etc etc... I wouldnt need hand holding! Seems incomplete presentation is a common factor of DOS applications;- at least conceptually ORCAD is a fine product......) Am i missing something here? What havent i read? Does ORCAD Pty Ltd have an email address? Why was there no 'master' instillation program?. Could anyone send any relevant info(i'd loggin their bulletin board if it wasnt so far away)?. Any and all replies gratefully accepted. Junaid.Walker.
