[net.ham-radio] IC-02AT

A-EPSTEIN@columbia-20.ARPA (Adam Epstein) (02/10/86)

Does anybody know how to increase the search/scan rate on the
IC-02AT? Out of the box, it's painfully slow. It was really easy to
adjust on my IC-290A and on my IC-45A, but I don't remember seeing
anything in the 02AT documentation (which I don't have in my
possession at the moment).

Also, I have the mods that allow Tx & Rx out of band (for the 02AT).
Rx is fair to at least 162.55 MHz without retuning. I didn't bother
with the Tx part of the mod. I have only hardcopy, but if I get a
sufficient number of requests, I'll key 'em in and mail 'em out.

Adam--I for one would like to know how to RX on an IC-02 up to 162
MHz or thereabouts--would make a nice weather station rcvr. Would
be glad to send you an SASE or if you can put it here on the net,
I'd be appreciative.

I would LOVE to hear about mods for RX and TX! Please, if you can,
post the instructions. If you don't want to do that, just leave
me your address and I'll send a SASE or something...

To anyone else: If you know of mods that can be made to the popular
2-meter FM handhelds, I'd really like to hear about them. I am the
Assistant Emergency Coordinator for our city and have members who
want to know how to scan public-service freqs with their HT's.

Any correspondence greatly appreciated!

I'll second that. I'd love to the 02AT mod's also!!!
