I'm trying to capture printout which goes through COM1. So far, I only tried prn2file, and it doesn't do it. So I looked at chyde's INDEX and found the lines below. Can anyone tell me which program might be able to capture COM1? I use a serial printer that used to be on COM1, but is now on COM2. I've never had any trouble with redirection. My application programs never direct print output to COM1 or COM2, but to LPT1. I used to have a MODE command that redirected LPT1 to COM1, and I think I could use PRN2FILE to capture print output from LPT1. I know I can do it now: I use MSPOOL2 (instead of DOS PRINT) to capture LPT1 output, buffer it in RAM, and send it to COM2 in the background, and PRN2FILE intercepts LPT1 with no problem. I use an XT clone - maybe more sophisticated systems are harder to deal with. Marty marty@hoqax.att.com hoqax!marty Martin B. Brilliant (Winnertech Corporation)
