Having installed DOS 5 along with QEMM etc. on one of my machines I have one (?) remaining problem. Some of the TSRs I use complain about needing DOS 3.x I tried using SETVER as documented but since 4DOS is my primary shell (a rather old copy 3.0 I think) it doesn't recognize the command "SETVER mytsr 3.30". I must admit I didn't fool with this too much (is was enough to get the other stuff to work) but perhaps someone has already solved this one. Much thanks... Don Rubin rubin@visual1.jhuapl.edu

Did you include the line: DEVICE=drive:\directory\SETVER.EXE in your CONFIG.SYS file? It works for me. - Jim =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "The opinions expressed here in no way represent the views of Digital Equipment Corporation." James J. Either that or setver isn't on your path. You might also want to use SETVER mytsr.EXE 3.30 or whatever. The extension might be necessary (probably is) I will get around to solving these problems for myself when I install 5.0 after exams. -- -----------------------------------------+---------------------------------- |/ (ins845b@monu4.cc.monash.edu.au) | This space for rent. |\evin (ins845b@monu3.cc.monash.edu.au) | All reasonable offers accepted -----------------------------------------+---------------------------------
