I'm going to use the keyword "dos5" on my original posts (not dos50, since I bet 5.1 comes out this year). Being a unix user, I find I type unix commands in DOS once in a while. I defined the following macro in DOSKEY: C> doskey lc=dir/l/w/o:n $* and sometimes I want to disable the /w. If I type "lc foo/-w" it works, or the "lc /-w foo" form, but "lc/-w foo" is not parsed correctly and macro expanded. It seems that *only* a blank is parsed as an ending to the name checked for the macro table. I don't have a problem with that now that I know, just though it might save someone a little time. -- bill davidsen (davidsen@crdos1.crd.GE.COM -or- uunet!crdgw1!crdos1!davidsen) GE Corp R&D Center, Information Systems Operation, tech support group Moderator comp.binaries.ibm.pc and 386-users digest.
